Dr. Pankaj K. Tyagi, Professor in Biotechnology at NIET, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. He holds a Ph.D. in Drosophila Genetics and Evolutionary Biology, earned from the Department of Biosciences at M. D. University, Rohtak, Haryana, India. With a profound academic background, Dr. Tyagi has authored four books, contributed to 25 book chapters, and published over 95 articles in reputable SCI/Scopus/referred journals. His editorial contributions extend across various domains, as he serves as the editor-in-chief, guest editor, and associate editor for several esteemed journals in Nanobiotechnology, Drosophila Biology, Zoology, Botany, and Toxicology.
Dr. Tyagi's academic leadership is reflected in his supervision of over 100 graduate and more than 20 postgraduate dissertations, including M.Phil and Ph.D. theses. His research primarily revolves around Green Nanomaterial Synthesis and their toxicity, with a focus on safety evaluations in vivo using various species of Drosophila. Recognized for his outstanding contributions, Dr. Tyagi has garnered numerous awards, including the University Research Fellowship and the Recommended UGC Research Award for the period 2014-2016. Notably, he was honored with the prestigious Fellow Linnaean Society London Fellowship Award in 2019-20. His expertise in nanobiotechnology and Drosophila biology has secured several research grants, and he has successfully organized workshops, conferences, and Short Term Training Programs, supported by funding agencies such as DBT, UP-CST, AKTU-CRIP, and LSFI.
